Progressive

As a sign of perpetual creation, starting from the primordial germ, the work encompasses within itself the valence of growth and development. This initiatory sign of the spiral causes the viewer to tune in to the rhythms of the Universe, generating superior sensations of spiritual experience. Meandering symbolism embraces the idea of continuity and reveals to the viewer the essence hidden in the material in which it was captured. Beyond the main symbol in the foreground of the work, we find the continuous, hesitant line, which seeks new ways of expression, as a personal sign of the author, clothed in the now famous Red by Nemtoi.

About the artist

Ioan Nemtoi is one of Europe’s most popular contemporary glass artists. He works from his studio in Botosani, Romania – the hometown where he was born and spent his youth.

Graduating from the Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts in 1991, Nemtoi set out to make his mark on the world of glass art. And with his great skill and singularly unique approach to glassmaking he has certainly achieved that goal.

Nemtoi is especially renowned for his use of colors and the unique marbling effect he creates with multiple layers of molten glass. His exquisite glass art creations including vases, perfume bottles, bowls, candleholders and plates have been displayed in some of the most prestigious galleries and museums in Europe.
