Interior Roads of Love

Like shades of feelings and questions, the roads of color hide within themselves emotional universes. They are ingeniously applied to the sumptuous exterior of this sculpture, which features a modern inverted pyramid shape. Perfected by the process known in painting as pointillism, it reveals the artistic talent of the author who managed to translate into a hot and flowing material, difficult to process in minute details, a technique of great finesse. The viewer is exposed to the quality and finesse of the achievement, but also the impression of continuity, perfection, originality of the work. The color overlays are matte and full, they do not allow the transparency of the planes, resulting in a fine but concrete geometry.

About the artist

Ioan Nemtoi is one of Europe’s most popular contemporary glass artists. He works from his studio in Botosani, Romania – the hometown where he was born and spent his youth.

Graduating from the Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts in 1991, Nemtoi set out to make his mark on the world of glass art. And with his great skill and singularly unique approach to glassmaking he has certainly achieved that goal.

Nemtoi is especially renowned for his use of colors and the unique marbling effect he creates with multiple layers of molten glass. His exquisite glass art creations including vases, perfume bottles, bowls, candleholders and plates have been displayed in some of the most prestigious galleries and museums in Europe.
