Ioan Nemtoi – the first Romanian artist to open a gallery in New York

The objects created at Dorohoi are sold in the gallery located in the Soho district, one of the most cosmopolitan of Manhattan, and the inaugural event enjoyed the presence of several personalities of the New York cultural and artistic world.

Important art collectors, actors, media representatives participated among the guests. The gallery presents both art objects, installations, sculpture, and decorative art, all bearing the signature of Ioan Nemtoi. The objects are entirely created in Romania, in our own workshop in Dorohoi.

 “It’s not easy to work with glass. What at first was a challenge, today is my art. It’s fascinating to work with water and fire at the same time and I think nothing can express my feelings better than the dialogue with glass “

The artist’s works have earned their place in important museums around the world. In 2001, the work “Loaves and Fishes” by Ioan Nemtoi, donated by the President of Romania on the occasion of the 56th session of the UN, was exhibited in the UNICEF headquarters in New York.
